Event Report: Talk On “Engineer As A Consulting Engineer”

On 9th April 2011 (Saturday), a talk on Engineer As A Consulting Engineer had been organized by the IEM G&S YES. The talk was presented by Ir. Dr. Gue See Sew. The talk was held in Tan Sri Prof. Chin Fung Kee Auditorium, 3rd Floor, Wisma IEM, PJ. The total number of participants were around 100 people approximately which comprises of members of IEM and also from the IEM’s student section.

The program started at 9.00 am with an opening address by the organizing chairman. The objective of the talk was to implement wise and strong introductions to the young engineers especially to the recent graduates and students as their enrolment in the IEM graduate/student sections are rising up.

The synopsis of the talk was to present consulting engineer system and a network for consulting engineers, as persons who live in the modern technology society who are confused, while it discusses how a consultant should act. Roles of consulting engineers are to examine technical fear and problems on the basis of wide visual fields and advanced special ability such as ethics of engineers, internationality, and safety management.

The presentation ended around 11.30 am and a quick Q&A session was held for about ½ hour. The talk ended at 12.00 pm sharp and the committee members with the speaker had lunch together.
