UpCoMing talk... The Evolution of Mobile Communications: 0G to 4G
Dear ALL,
As we move forward to the new information age, knowledge and awareness on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is imperative and inevitable. As such, we Young Engineers from Graduate & Student Section - The Young Engineers Section of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM G&S-YES) have lined up a talk on The Evolution of Mobile Communications: 0G to 4G jointly organised with IET YMS for the benefits of all. We are pleased to invite all of you to participate in this talk with the details as follow:

SYNOPSIS:
The mobile communications technology, especially the mobile phones has proven to be one of the most outstanding technological and commercial achievements of the last century. The mobile communications has rapidly progressed from a minority, specialized item to virtually an essential commodity for both business and leisure use. This presentation will explore the evolution of mobile communication technologies by looking from the historical perspective, potential market and possible future long term evolution (LTE) as declared by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), an international consortium for the technical development of the new generation for mobile communications. Also, the presentation will discuss the expectation of the services in the Fourth Generation of mobile communication systems (4G), from the perspective of researchers and consumers.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER:
C.F. Kwong completed his studies in B.Eng (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering, University of Hertfordshire, UK in 2001 with First Class Honours and received a scholarship from the University of Bradford, UK to read MSc in Personal, Mobile & Satellite Communications where he graduated with a Distinction. He is currently a Senior Lecturer and the Head of Programme at the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, INTI International University College, Malaysia. He is also the Head of Satellite & Mobile Group (SMG) in the same University and his research interest includes the cross layer protocols and the mobility management for the hybrid terrestrial and satellite communication networks.
