Date : 25th July 2011 (Monday)
Time : 9.00 a.m. – 5.30 p.m.
Venue : TUS Lecture Room, 2nd Floor, Wisma IEM, PJ
Presenter : Dr. Asrulnizam bin Abd Manaf
INTRODUCTION
This one day course is an introduction to microfluidics and the application of this technology in the life nowadays. It is intended for those who might be interested in becoming involved in the microfluidics field, but need a basic outline of what is possible and how the devices are designed and built
OBJECTIVE
The main objective for this course is to help the attendees with comprehensive understanding on identifying the suitable material for a given microfluidic application, to understand modern trends & developments in the field of microfabrication technologies, to learn application examples of microfluidic devices in a wide range of disciplines and understand the current state of the markets and obstacles in the commercialization process and how to adapt existing designs and processes to new markets.
BENEFITS
At the end of this course, attendees will understand how to implement the microfluidic technology in bioMEMS and physicalMEMS sensor and understand the development of micro 3-dimension fabrication technique by using silicon micromachining and grayscale technology and how to implement the polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and CMOS process in fabrication of fluidic-based inclinometer and micro Total Analysis System (uTAS) chip.
The registration closing date is 15th July 2011. Please refer to the attachment for more information.
